Weekly training recap: Mon 27th July – Sun 2nd Aug

It’s been nice to have my training buddy back in action this week, although we have both been feeling somewhat run down and this has affected our training a little.

This week was a small week anyway training wise, with two 30 minute runs in the week and only a 2 mile run at the weekend which is why we chose this week for Gid to get back into running in an attempt to ease him back into the training schedule. Next week is starting to ramp up the miles with a 5 miler at the weekend so no more slacking!

Monday:

Wednesday:

30 minute maintenance run – covered 2.25 miles using run/walk intervals of 1 minute running and 45 seconds walking with a pace of 12’23” per mile. Not bad for someone who hasn’t run in over a month!

Thursday:

Friday:

We were supposed to do another 30 minute maintenance run today but we were both feeling very run down so we skipped this one to rest.

Saturday:

Rest day

Sunday:

2 mile run using run/walk intervals of 1 minute running 45 seconds walking. Average pace 11’53” per mile! Felt so warm out even at 6pm – was not expecting that so surprisingly pleased with the pace!
